American light tank M3 (named “Stuart” in British army after American Civil War Confederate general J. E. B. Stuart) was developed during late 1930-s – early 1940-s and entered army service in 1941. The production of M3 “Stuart” continued until 1944 and more than 20000 of them were produced. These tanks were supplied through Lend-Lease to British and Soviet armies, as wel as several other Allied armies. M3 light tanks took part in numerous battles all over the world.
